Introduction

PURPOSE OF BAI

To have own provincial centralized agency for education and motivation of farming community and field staff of all sectors of Agriculture Department through mass media (Audio, video and printed materials).

BACKGROUND HISTORY          First Phase      (1971 – 1977)

• Before 70’s only an officer was responsible for publicity work (small scale) in the Directorate of Agriculture Extension
• In 1971 a separate section was established for this purposeand publication of a magazine named “Zaraat” started.
• In 1977 the magazine printing was started in GovernmentPrinting Press.
• The magazine was re-named as “Zaraat -e-Sarhad”.

BACKGROUND HISTORY          Second Phase  (1977– 1983)

• The present setup was establish on the recommendationof Kashtkar conference in 1983 and under supervision of Dy: Director (BS-18) a new set up was established.
• Own printing press was installed for printing of publicity /extension materials.
• Building renovated for establishment of offices which was acquired for Agricultural Training Institution Peshawar.
• Conference Hall and Audio Studio was established.
• Liaisoning /Coordination with PTV / PBC for Telecasting /Broadcasting Agricultural Programmes.
